all started in late 2003, when Nick Tertel had an idea for a project
named "Sleepybird"after seeing a drawing in a 19th century
Audubon North American Bird Field Guide.

Longtime
collaborator Jaime Legato added harmony and texture to the sound that
came as a big surprise to Nick. He decided Jaime could stay.

was something missing... the bottom! Upright bassist Jason Dryden fit
right in!

Malone was added in January of 2005. He has been a fixture at every Sleepybird
